I haven't made a journal entry in a long while!
How are you?
So I've been recently thinking that I might try to sell some prints. Please comment below if you would be interested in buying a print! I'm trying to find out how I would go about this. I think sites like etsy and even deviantart make it a bit difficult to sell prints for cheap... I was thinking about just posting info about prints and possible prices and just print and send them out as they are requested. I definitely haven't looked into this much at all yet. I shall soon and figure out which method would be best!
I've also been doing a photo 365 since Jan 1, uploading to an album on facebook. I made the album public, here it is if anyone is interested:
There are a few photos there that aren't here on DA.
Currently I'm in my last year of undergrad and this year my friend and I decided to join the film making club at my uni. The club is pretty great, we get a lot of cool film projects to work on and it's been really sweet meeting so many extremely awesome and interesting people. Also attempting to film moving image has gone over quite well! I really like it a lot. I remember in grade 11 we had to write about what our dream job was and I said cinematographer. I hadn't really made any film things then, but really enjoyed photography and admired film so much.
Back in October we had a challenge to make a 5x5 which is a short video of 5 shots each 5 seconds long. I missed the meeting and didn't have a group so I just made one myself as a little personal challenge. Here is the link, posted on the club youtube page! Watch the other videos too if you like, I think they're all pretty sweet.
For the club we also recently had a project to replicate a scene of dialogue from a film. My group got the break-up scene from 500 Days of Summer. We turned it into a zombie version of the scene. This video is not up yet but i'll post it here once it gets online.
The last video I want to mention is a short film I made with two friends for the Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival. The challenge was called the T24 project, where groups had to make a short film in 24 hours off of a theme given at the start of the 24 hours. The theme was 'apocalyptic Toronto'. I'm really excited about this film. It was pretty dang crazy cause I had to film and edit it by myself... and I'd never edited before! It was a pretty sweet learning experience though. I also can't post this video yet because we aren't allowed to make it public until after the screening on February 13. I will post a link here probably on the 14th!
